Question and Answer Time
Dear Chris
One question I think we all would like the answer to is this. Why the hell don’t the politicians understand they need to CUT SPENDING AND CUT TAXES. They all say we will have to cut police and fire, well BS. Cut the waste quit giving us the standard knee jerk Police and Fire BLAH. Please ask that question when you get a chance.

The answer is whether or not the politician views the government as a tool to provide services, or whether the government is to be financially fit, and follow genrally accepted accounting principles. Is it about service or money? Is it about using to government to force people to behave a certain way? Or is it about protecting citizens from those who would use to government to behave a certain way?
It isn’t really about GOP vs. Democrats anymore… It’s about Authortarians vs. Libertarians.

Yes I think I am a Libertarian. Now I am listening to Jean about how we should pay property taxes based on our income that is the worst thing I have ever heard. What a bunch of crap. Your guest will be looking for a new job after the next election. They really don’t see what happened in the last election.

Yeah, they probably will… It’s amazing to see how many of the Democrats are not understanding this….
The income tax plan won’t go through. I think it’s Bill Crawford and the Democrats messing with Daniels. Now they HAVE to defend it…
Either way, it’s an extremely DUMB plan.

The issue truly is the EXTRA and Extraneous services which the government has chosen to provide. When cutting taxes, the answer is always that any cuts will come from Police and Fire. These are the popular manipulative answers which put people back on their heals.
The real solution is to realize that there are services which are NOT necessarily a part of government. There are services which should NOT be given if they are not viable. Services such as the huge library downtown is a prime example. Small local libraries will have much more impact on communities than the behemouth addon downtown.
We should look at EVERY public position from the Governor to the local file clerk, and see if the service and production they supply is warranted AND MORE IMPORTANTLY is the VALUE of that service adequate. If the value is not there, the job needs to be changed or cut. Needing a pile of papers moved from one place to another might be needed, but we MUST look at the true value of that job. If the job is required, we need to look at its value and if it is less than the person’s COST, it needs to be restructured or eliminated.
